Sage
Sage (salvia officinalis) is a member of the mint plant family and grows in many areas of the world. Sage leaves have a distinctive feature of being covered by trichomes- tiny structures that are like hair and give sage leaves their distinctive texture. The name ‘sage’ comes from the latin “salvere’ which means ‘to save’ since sage was used to help balance many areas of well being of both mind and body. Sage oil has a strong, spicy cleansing scent.
